		<description>The international organization that oversees, among other things, amateur radio at their last meeting made a statement to the effect that they believed that in the event of emergencies there is nothing that can replace amateur radio. They went on to suggest that governments do more to encourage amateur radio and, in particular, the emergency services provided by amateur radio.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Often amateur radio is the ONLY communication that will work as the infrastructures that emergency services rely on prove themselves to be inadequate to the task.</description>
